FAQ

So you're interested...

but you have a few questions.  Here are a few of the most common.

Q: Who uses a personal chef?

A: Anyone too busy to cook, new mothers, people with special dietary needs, or just

tired of fast food, take out, and restaurant food and are looking for a healthy,

    delicious, and easy alternative.

Q: What are the benefits of using a Personal Chef?

A:  I work in tandem with you to design a menu specific to your personal tastes.  Love

salmon?  I'll present you with multiple ways I can prepare it.  Trying to lose a few

pounds?  I'll design a low fat menu with the decadent taste of a fine dining

establishment.  Can't live without Italian food?  We can do a whole taste of Sicily

menu.  Best of all, if you're into Mexican food next week, we'll do a whole new set of entrees based on that cuisine.  Not to mention, no clean up, no shopping, and in

no time at all, you are at the table enjoying a delicious meal.

Q: With so many restaurant choices out there how could I get tired of dining out?

A: Here are ten reasons not to go out to eat.

Q: How much time are you really expecting to save me?

A: Based on food shopping once a week.
Planning your meals and making up a shopping list for your meal plan,
    1 hour.
Driving to and from the food market,
    20 minutes.
Doing the food shopping and checking out,
    45 minutes.
    Putting away the food,
    20 minutes.
Doing dinner prep 5 days a week,
    30 minutes x 5 = 2 and 1/2 hours.
Cooking dinner 5 days a week,
    30 minutes x 5 = 2 and 1/2 hours.
    Clean up,
    25 minutes x 5 =2 hours 5 minutes.
    Interruptions ?????????
    What is your time worth?
    Let's say $30.00 per hour.
    9 hours and 30 minutes x $30.00 hr =
    $285.00 (NOT INCLUDING FOOD)
My service for 5 meals with 4 portions of each = $275.00 plus food.  Worth it?

Q: Will you cook in my home?

A: Yes, I will cook in your home.  I will be using your stove, oven, countertops, and sink.

I will, however, be bringing my own equipment (pots, pans, utensils, etc.), dish soap

and sponge, plastic wrap and aluminum foil, and broom and dust pan.  The only room I

will be in is the kitchen.  Baker Does It, LLC is covered by liability insurance.

Q: Do I need to be home?

A: No, you do not need to be home.

Q: How long will you be in my kitchen?

A: Depending on the number of entrees you select, I will be there anywhere from 3 to 5

    hours?

Q: What areas do you service?

A: I service most of Montgomery and Delaware counties and some of Bucks and

    Philadelphia counties.

Q: How is the food packaged?

A: I use Versatainers or aluminum pans, depending on the way you would like to heat up

    your meals.

Q: How long will the food last?

A: Typically, the food will last 3-5 days in the refrigerator and up to two months in the

    freezer.

Q: I would like to bring a couple of meals to work for lunch (to show off!!)  Can you

make smaller portion sizes to accommodate me?

A: Absolutely!!  Also, if you have a couple of hungry teenage boys in your family, or you

want them to eat more veggies, I can increase the size of any entree or side.

Q: I would like to try some organic food.  Any suggestions?

A: Yes, we can do a menu featuring any organic ingredients found at your local grocery

    store.

Q: My grandmother used to make the best meatloaf, but I never have the time to

use her recipe.  If I give it to you, will you make it for me?

A: No problem.  I will do my best to replicate any old family recipe you have, time

    permitting.

Q: I want to do something special for Mother's Day.  Do you offer Gift Certificates?

A: Yes, Gift Certificates are available.
